Can you please clarify the exact issue you encountered, or what happened when you tried to update .NET? The information provided so far is unfortunately too vague to troubleshoot. For example, I would need the exact error message or error code you saw, along with the steps you took when trying to update it.
In any case, you can just visit the .NET 8 download page and download and install the appropriate runtime (or component) from there to update it manually.
