I want OUT

I never knowingly signed in to Microsoft Cashback. I am not interested in Microsoft Cashback. I now hear that I have cashback available, and that if I do nothing I will be charged a monthly maintenance fee. I consider this an invasion of my privacy, and I declare that I want OUT, and no more interference in my account.

    Hi Pamela.

The Cashback feature is part of Microsoft Bing rewards, if you want to leave Cashback, they do not provide a separate method to leave Cashback, you need to use the process on this link to opt out of Bing rewards, and please note, when you leave Bing Rewards, you will loose access to any Bing Rewards points you have collected.

That message is likely a phishing scam. A legitimate cashback program does not typically threaten a $5 monthly fee for not using it.

    Recommended actions:

    1. Do not click any links or provide any information from that email.
    2. Check whether the sender domain is actually from Microsoft.
    3. If there are unexpected charges on a bank or card statement, go to the Manage your payments page in the Microsoft account dashboard and select Investigate.
    4. Before contacting support, use the Unexpected charge troubleshooter.
    5. If payment information may be compromised, contact the bank or payment provider immediately to prevent more charges. Disputing charges alone does not prevent additional fraudulent charges.
    6. To reduce Microsoft promotional emails, sign in to the Microsoft account profile, open Communication preferences for each email address, and unsubscribe from newsletters or promotional emails as needed.

If participation in Microsoft Rewards is the concern, opting out causes immediate loss of all available points.
