    Can you go here: https://support.hp.com/au-en/drivers/swdetails/hp-laserjet-pro-mfp-m225-series/model/6778493/swItemId/Im-134375-6

Download and install the full feature driver (which includes the scanner driver) and see if it makes any difference?

Note: This is not Microsoft website/URL, but it is the official OEM/manufacturer site.

If the printer still prints but scanning stopped, start with these Windows 11 checks:

    1. Check the USB connection.
      • Make sure the printer is powered on.
      • Reseat the USB cable on both the PC and printer.
      • Try a different USB port on the PC.
    2. Remove and reconnect the printer in Windows.
      • Open Settings.
      • Go to Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
      • Select the printer and choose Remove.
      • Disconnect the USB cable.
      • Reconnect the USB device.
      • In some cases, Windows recognizes the scanner again after reconnection.
    3. Reinstall the printer device.
      • Open Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
      • Select Add device next to Add a printer or scanner.
      • Follow the prompts to reinstall it.
    4. Update or reinstall the printer driver.
      • Open Start > Device Manager.
      • Expand Printers.
      • Right-click the printer and select Update driver.
      • If no update is found, select Uninstall device.
      • Restart the PC so Windows can try to reinstall the driver automatically.
    5. Run the printer troubleshooter.
      • Open Settings.
      • Go to Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
      • Select the printer.
      • Select More devices and printer settings.
      • Right-click the printer and select Troubleshoot.
    6. If this started after a recent Windows 11 update and the device is connected by USB, a known issue can affect some USB multifunction printers that use IPP over USB. In that case, scanner detection can fail even though printing still works. Microsoft is investigating, and reconnecting the USB device may temporarily restore scanner detection.
    7. If Windows still does not detect scanning, install the latest full driver/software package from the printer manufacturer. After a Windows reset or driver issue, a complete uninstall, restart, and reinstall of the manufacturer’s printer/scanner software can help restore scanning.
