The correct recovery path depends on whether Windows can still use Bluetooth but cannot find this headset, or whether the Bluetooth switch itself is missing or unavailable.
If Bluetooth is available but the headset is not detected
- Fully charge the headset, turn it off, and disconnect it from nearby phones, tablets, or other computers.
- Put the headset into pairing mode using its manufacturer’s procedure. Merely turning it on may not make it discoverable.
- On Windows 11, open Start → Settings → Bluetooth & devices and confirm Bluetooth is on.
- If the headset remains listed from its previous connection:
- Select its … menu.
- Select Remove device → Yes.
- Select Add device → Bluetooth, then choose the headset when it appears. Keep it close to the computer while pairing. These are Microsoft’s recommended steps when Bluetooth is operational but a device cannot connect or be detected.^1^
If it still does not appear, turn Bluetooth off under Settings → Bluetooth & devices, wait 10 seconds, turn it back on, and retry pairing.
If Bluetooth is missing, grayed out, or no devices are detected
Perform a complete shutdown to reset the Bluetooth hardware:
- Hold Shift while selecting Start → Power → Shut down.
- Wait one minute after the PC switches off.
- Turn it back on and check Settings → Bluetooth & devices.
Use Shut down, not Restart, because this procedure completely powers off the Bluetooth hardware.^2^
If Bluetooth is still unavailable:
- Open Device Manager.
- Expand Bluetooth.
- Right-click the Bluetooth adapter—not the headset—and select Update driver → Search automatically for drivers.
- Restart after installation.
Also check Settings → Windows Update → Advanced options → Optional updates for Bluetooth, BIOS, UEFI, or firmware updates.
Driver recovery if pairing still fails
Because the headset worked previously, a changed or damaged Bluetooth driver is another relevant path:
- Open Device Manager → Bluetooth.
- Right-click the Bluetooth adapter and select Properties → Driver.
- If the problem began after a Windows or driver update and Roll Back Driver is available, select it and follow the prompts.
- Otherwise, right-click the adapter and select Uninstall device, then restart the PC. Windows should reinstall the driver automatically.
- If that does not help, download the Windows 11 Bluetooth driver for the exact PC model from the PC manufacturer’s support site, install it, and restart. Microsoft notes that a manufacturer may offer a newer driver even when Device Manager says the best driver is already installed.^3^
If Bluetooth does not appear in Device Manager at all, including under Other devices, contact the PC manufacturer for model-specific driver, firmware, or hardware diagnostics. Microsoft identifies manufacturer-supplied drivers and firmware as the relevant recovery path when Windows cannot detect the Bluetooth hardware.^2^
