I cant redeem Microsoft Rewards points. what happened?

Common reasons Microsoft Rewards redemption stops working are:

1. Wrong verification code If the code sent to the phone does not match, redemption fails. After too many failed phone verification attempts, there is a 48-hour wait before trying again.
2. Phone number usage limit reached A phone number can only be associated with a limited number of Microsoft Rewards accounts, with a maximum of 6 accounts per household.
3. Using a VoIP number Microsoft Rewards requires a mobile phone or landline for verification. VoIP numbers are not allowed.
4. Region or travel issue Rewards points must be redeemed in the same region as the Microsoft account. Redemption can fail while traveling or if a VPN/proxy is being used.
5. Order was cancelled or reward unavailable Orders can also be cancelled if the reward is out of stock or unavailable.
6. Account policy restriction Redemption can be blocked if the account was flagged for policy issues such as using multiple accounts, inaccurate account information, using a service that alters the true IP address, earning points from more than one country the same day, or redeeming points outside the country where they were earned.

What to do:

1. Sign in to the Rewards page and check Order history to see whether the order shows a status or cancellation.
2. Make sure the redemption is being done from the home region of the account.
3. Turn off any VPN or proxy.
4. Use a mobile or landline number, not a VoIP number.
5. If phone verification failed too many times, wait 48 hours and try again.
6. If available during redemption in a browser, use QR code verification with the Bing app instead of SMS.
7. If the issue continues, submit a request to Microsoft Rewards Support.

If the problem is specifically that a reward no longer appears, some gift cards and rewards are not always available and may return later.
