Why won’t you let me delete my compromised account?

I have an outlook account (this one) that I need deleted ASAP. Someone was impersonating me and thankfully I caught it. . Only problem is you won’t let me delete this because my backup email was also compromised and was deleted purposely earlier in the week.

I added a new alternate email which you won’t address till November when this account is already compromised and still up because of this asinine rule. I called the numbers and nothing. No emails work and I’m not allowed to chat because of the alternate backup email issue. blocking access. What gives?

We have security questions for a reason. Why is it so hard to delete my own account? No help whatsoever anywhere. App is also quite useless. Please help me like it’s 2010 again. I beg of you. This account is useless now and the damage is sadly already done. Help me.

    Hello,

First off I need to clarify that this is a public community forum and we are just regular users here, not Microsoft employees. We have no access to the backend systems to bypass those security holds or wipe your account for you.

That thirty day waiting period is hardcoded and kicks in automatically when all the backup security info gets changed at once. The system does this so a hacker can't completely hijack and immediately delete an account before the real owner gets a chance to recover it.

Are you currently still able to log into this compromised account with your password while you wait for November or are you completely locked out from the inbox too?
