I have a XiaoMi Android tablet and use family link to control all apps and all websites my daugther can access. Suddenly the tablet installed all by itself without permision Edge without any control what my daugther can see and do in the internet. It was right away default browser before it was even started the first time. I did get a warning email, else wouldn't have noticed. I don't think Xiaomi installs that just because they like MS so much. That is bloatware invading my daughters privacy and my right to decide what my dauther can do in the internet and what not How dare you? I tried to uninstall and re-install and it worked. it did not ask for my permission and just installed it. WTF? Any other APP needs my permission.

    Hi Magnus,

I'm very sorry to hear about this situation. I can certainly understand how concerning it would be to see an application appear on your 11-year-old daughter's device, particularly when you're relying on parental controls to help keep her safe online.

That said, Microsoft cannot remotely install Microsoft Edge on a personal Android device. In addition, Microsoft Edge does not have the capability to bypass Android's parental control mechanisms.

Since this involves an Android tablet, concerns about application availability, device management, or parental control enforcement would be better addressed by the device manufacturer or Google Support, as they manage the Android platform and its parental control features.

Thank you for raising your concerns, and I hope you're able to get clarification on what occurred.
