I replaced my motherboard (old X299 system to an ASUS ROG Maximus Z890 Hero), Windows 11 Pro now reports error 0xC004F211, the device appears in my Microsoft account, the activation troubleshooter cannot reactivate the licence, and no OEM key exists in the BIOS.

Yes, I had followed the troubleshooting options in the Windows Activation section and was unsuccessful.

I then followed the suggestions provided by CoPilot which suggested to run:

    slmgr /ato

    slmgr /dlv

    slmgr /upk

After running the /upk, the installationID was removed.

Attached are some of the screen shots I took during the troubleshooting.

I had originally bought a license but I can no longer find the key.

Are you able to lookup the product key via the software Licensing service version screen capture image information details above?

I'll assume you have selected the option of I changed hardware in the troubleshooter. The record you see for the device in your account does not identify activation that is held in a separate record which is what the troubleshooter finds. (or perhaps not in your case)

Can you give details about the origin of the licence you have been using.

    1. Did you buy the Windows 10 Pro licence.
    2. Was it a full licence or an upgrade from Windows 10 Home.
    3. Was the windows 10 licence part of the free upgrade from Windows 7/8 in 2015 to 2016.
    4. Was the licence provided by the system builder/manufacturer.
