Outlook mobile app won’t send emails on iphone

Hi

I’ve spent 2 evenings and nearly an hour with support trying to resolve an issue sending emails from the Outlook app!

I’ve reset and removed the app, reset my password and deleted from Mail on my iPhone and readded. (I need to see my appointments in my iCal app).

Does anyone have any suggestions or could advise what should be in my settings, as something isn’t set up right. My iPad did work, but now it doesn’t allow me to send emails through the app either! Web browser works fine.

Support through the app keeps sending me in circles and I wish I could call someone but can’t find a number!

Thank you

Since Outlook on the web works, the mailbox itself is likely fine and the issue is on the iPhone/iPad app side or account setup.

    Try this in order:

    1. In the Outlook mobile app, delete and re-add the account.
      • Open Settings in Outlook.
      • Tap the account that is not syncing or sending.
      • Tap Delete Account > Delete From This Device.
      • Add the account again.
    2. If prompted for account type during setup, add it as Outlook.com or Microsoft Exchange.
      • Do not add it as IMAP.
      • If an account is set up as IMAP or POP, calendars and contacts will not sync. Exchange ActiveSync is required for calendar/contact sync.
    3. If the account is also in the iPhone Mail app for calendar/contact sync:
      • Go to iPhone Settings > Accounts & Passwords and select the account.
      • Make sure Calendars and Contacts are enabled.
      • If there is no Calendar option, the account may have been added as IMAP.
      • In that case, delete the account from iPhone Mail and re-add it as Exchange.
    4. If sending still fails in Outlook mobile, verify the account sync path from a PC:
      • Set up the same mailbox in Outlook on a PC using the Exchange protocol.
      • Send a test email and create a test calendar event.
      • Close Outlook, restart the PC, reopen Outlook, and confirm the event is still there.
      • Then check the mobile device again.
      • If the event still does not appear, open Outlook mobile Settings and restart the app.
    5. If this started suddenly on devices that previously worked, check whether there is an Outlook.com service issue.
    6. If the account is a newly created Outlook.com account and it cannot send, make sure the account has been verified through the verification email.

What should be “right” in settings:

    • Account type: Outlook.com or Exchange
    • Not configured as IMAP/POP if calendar/contacts are needed
    • In iPhone settings, Calendars and Contacts enabled for that account
