Hi,

This started with the system crashing - probably because the graphics card drivers were wrong. I was planning to use DDU to sort that but could not get into safe mode and I guess turning the machine off repeatedly introduced errors. but I used DISM and sfc scannow to fix it. I updated the amd chipset drivers and the graphics card drivers. Still I could not get into safemode by any method.

I have used DISM to reinstall the windows resource from an installation flash drive incase that was damaged.

Now sfc /scannow will not work and I get the message "windows resource protection could not perform the requested action". I was booting from the flash drive but now that even is failing.

the pc was getting stuck in the black screen with circling dots. and I managed to do a system restore but now start up is just a black screen or Asrock logo and no dots.

any suggestions?

I have checked the memory and windows modules installer is on manual as suggested. I am in a better place now having reinstalled the boot sector. I used DISM and sfc scannow again but still cannot get into safe mode by any method. The latest attempt was through msconfig and it is stuck with the Asrock logo and circling dots.

If you haven't done so, check your (C:) drive for system errors.
