Android backup not organising into folders

My settings in onedrive are for synced photos to be organised into the same folders that they are in on my Galaxy S23. Onedrive still just dumps all photos into one Camera Roll folder.

Have tried clearing cache, changing settings and resyncing, but no change.

    Thank you.

The setting are already correct for categorising the photos into folders.

    Hello,

Please open OneDrive > Settings > Camera backup > Back up device folders, and make sure Categorize is enabled.

Keep in mind that this setting applies to NEW backups. It will not automatically reorganize photos already uploaded to Camera Roll.

I would also like to clarify one thing.

Are these actual folders visible in Samsung's My Files app, or are they albums you created in Samsung Gallery?

The distinction matters because OneDrive does not necessarily preserve Samsung Gallery's album organization.
