microsoft is the most garbage company and contains the worst software on planet earth. Just came on here to say that. I am deeply disappointed that my university chose such an awful company to represent our technological needs.

    Hi @Reginek, Isaac Thomas,

I'm really sorry to hear that you've had such a frustrating experience.

Would you mind sharing a little more about what's happening? Are you trying to sign out of your university account and sign in with a different account instead? Also, are you using Teams on the desktop app, in a web browser, or on a mobile device?

If you're seeing any error message, or if you're comfortable sharing a screenshot (with any personal information removed), that may help me better understand what's getting in the way.

This is a user-to-user support community, so I don't have access to your account or university systems. That said, I do genuinely understand how frustrating these situations can be, and if the issue is within my knowledge and experience, I'll do my best to help you work through it and point you toward the right solution.

I hope to hear back from you when you have a chance. I'd be glad to learn a bit more about what's happening and continue the discussion with you.

    Thank you for your time.

In Microsoft Teams, select your profile picture, choose Add another account, sign in with the other account, and then switch accounts from the same profile menu without signing out.^1^

    Desktop app

    1. Open Microsoft Teams.
    2. Select your profile picture at the top.
    3. Select Add another account.
    4. Choose a saved account or select Create or use another account.
    5. Enter the email address and password for the other account.
    6. To switch later, select your profile picture and choose the account you want.

If you specifically want to sign out first:

    1. Select your profile picture.
    2. Select Sign out.
    3. At the sign-in screen, enter the other account’s details.^2^

    Teams in a web browser

    1. Select your profile picture in Teams.
    2. Select Sign out.
    3. Close the Teams browser tab.
    4. Reopen Teams and choose Use another account or enter the other account’s email address.

If the browser keeps selecting the old account, open Teams in an InPrivate/Incognito window or use a separate Edge or Chrome browser profile for each account.

    Teams mobile app

    1. Open Teams.
    2. Tap More.
    3. Go to Settings.
    4. Tap Sign out.
    5. Sign in with the other account.^2^

Signing out on one device does not sign you out on your other devices. Also, signing out of Teams does not automatically sign the account out of other Microsoft apps.^2^
