I already have Microsoft 365 which is paid monthly with a different email in which I can share with 5 other people. I called the school who informed me they did not charge me $ 140 dollars for Microsoft 365. This is a fraudulent charge I did not authorize this charge please call me [Moderator note: personal information removed]. I need help please. It is so crazy that Microsoft quickly takes your money out of your account and makes it extremely difficult if not impossible to email or talk to some on the phone. Microsoft customer service gets a zero rating!!!

2026-10-09T12:46:40.1333333+00:00 Open Manage your payments, select the unrecognized $140 transaction, and choose Investigate; if it cannot be linked to an account you control, contact Microsoft Billing Support and your bank immediately. ^1^
Protect your personal information first
This is a public forum, so nobody here can access the order, issue a refund, or call you. Edit your post to remove the order number and telephone number. Do not post card details, passwords, or verification codes.
Investigate and request the refund
- Sign in to Microsoft’s Manage your payments page: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2246882
- Select Investigate beside the charge.
- Check every personal Microsoft account you have used, including accounts belonging to family members who may have had access to the payment card. The school’s confirmation rules out its billing, but it does not identify which Microsoft account or payment source created the transaction.
- If the subscription appears under an account you control, open: https://account.microsoft.com/services/microsoft365
- Select the subscription, then Manage → Cancel (or Upgrade or Cancel) and complete the cancellation. Refund eligibility is displayed during this process; cancellation does not always produce a refund. [^2^](https://support.microsoft.com/accounts-billing/subscriptions/[Subscription ID] "Microsoft subscription refund policy | Microsoft Support")
- If Turn on recurring billing appears, the subscription is already scheduled to expire and should not renew again. [^3^](https://support.microsoft.com/accounts-billing/subscriptions/[Subscription ID] "Cancel a Microsoft 365 subscription | Microsoft Support")
Cancel only the unfamiliar annual subscription—not the separate monthly Microsoft 365 Family subscription you intend to keep.
If the charge cannot be found
Contact Microsoft Support:
- Open: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2258619
- Enter unrecognized Microsoft 365 charge.
- Select Get Help.
- Select Contact Support when offered.
- Choose Microsoft 365 and Office and the billing/subscription category.
- Request chat or a callback, if available, and provide the order number privately to the agent—not in this forum.
Support availability and contact options can vary by time and region.
Secure the payment method
If you did not authorize the transaction or believe the card information was acquired by someone else, contact the bank/card issuer now. Ask it to:
- Flag the card as compromised.
- Block further unauthorized Microsoft charges.
- Replace the card if necessary.
- Start its unauthorized-transaction dispute process.
Microsoft specifically advises reporting the payment method as stolen or compromised because disputing only the existing charge does not prevent additional fraudulent charges. ^1^
If the transaction description identifies Apple, Google Play, Amazon, Best Buy, or another retailer as the seller, cancellation and refund must instead be requested from that retailer; Microsoft cannot refund payments it did not receive.
