A specific functionality or enhancement provided by Windows Copilot
The older integrated Copilot experience on the taskbar is no longer available on current Windows builds. The current experience is the Copilot app, which can be installed, removed, and reinstalled like a regular app.
If Copilot is missing or not working well, use these supported options:
- Reinstall the Copilot app:
- Windows 11: Settings > Apps > Installed apps > search for Copilot > … > Uninstall.
- Windows 10: Settings > Apps > search for Copilot > Uninstall.
- Reinstall it from the Microsoft Store.
- Run Copilot troubleshooters in Get Help:
- Open Get Help.
- Search for Copilot connectivity troubleshooter if Copilot cannot connect.
- Search for Copilot License Troubleshooter if the Copilot icon is missing in eligible Microsoft 365 apps.
- Use the current Copilot on Windows features for the same kind of help:
- Windows Settings support can guide to the right settings when asking things like making the screen easier to read or reducing distractions.
- Take a screenshot from the Copilot composer with + > Take a Screenshot and ask about what is on screen.
- Copilot Vision can look at open browser windows or apps and help step by step.
- File search can help find, open, and answer questions about supported files on the device.
If the goal is specifically to restore the old taskbar-integrated Copilot preview, that option is not described as available in the provided Microsoft support content.
