    1

Open the Settings App (gear icon on your Start Menu)

    Go to System - Troubleshoot

    Click 'Other Troubleshooters'

Run the Bluetooth troubleshooter from the resulting page

Check if Bluetooth is then working

    2

If not, open Device Manager (accessible by right clicking your Start Button)

At the top of Device Manager, choose View - Show Hidden Devices

Does that show hidden Bluetooth device(s) (Intel, Realtek or Mediatek).

If so, right click and uninstall that

    Restart your PC

Check if Bluetooth is then working

    3

If Bluetooth is still not working, go to the support page for your PC on the manufacturers website, then from there, download and install the Bluetooth device drivers they recommend.

If the Bluetooth icon is disabled or missing in Windows 11, the most common cause is a Bluetooth hardware, driver, or firmware problem. Try these steps in order:

    1. Fully shut down the PC, then turn it back on.
      • Hold Shift.
      • Select Start > Power > Shut down.
      • Wait about 1 minute.
      • Turn the PC back on.
      • Use Shut down, not Restart, so the Bluetooth hardware powers off completely.
    2. Update the Bluetooth driver.
      • Right-click Start > Device Manager.
      • Expand Bluetooth.
      • Right-click the Bluetooth adapter.
      • Select Update driver > Search automatically for drivers.
      • Install any update found, then restart the PC if prompted.
    3. If the Bluetooth icon is still missing but the adapter appears in Device Manager, uninstall and reinstall the adapter.
      • Open Device Manager.
      • Expand Bluetooth.
      • Right-click the Bluetooth adapter name.
      • Select Uninstall device > Uninstall.
      • Select Start > Power > Shut down.
      • Wait a few seconds, then turn the PC back on.
      • Windows should try to reinstall the driver automatically.
      • If it does not, open Device Manager and select Action > Scan for hardware changes.
    4. Install the latest Bluetooth driver manually from the PC manufacturer.
      • Go to the PC manufacturer’s support site and download the latest Bluetooth driver for the exact PC model.
      • If the download is an .exe file, run it.
      • If it contains .inf and .sys files, open Device Manager > Bluetooth > right-click the adapter > Update driver > Browse my computer for drivers, then browse to the folder and complete the installation.
    5. Check for Windows updates.
      • Go to Start > Settings > Windows Update.
      • Select Check for updates and install any available updates.
    6. If Bluetooth turns on again but the wireless headset still does not connect:
      • Make sure the headset is charged and in pairing mode.
      • Move it closer to the PC.
      • Remove and add it again from Bluetooth settings if needed.

If Bluetooth remains disabled or missing after these steps, contact the PC manufacturer. Bluetooth hardware errors are often caused by drivers or firmware specific to that PC model.
