Missed call notifications in Teams

Hi guys,

When Teams is set to Do Not Disturb, missed calls can be easily overlooked until users manually check the call queues. Is there anyway to show a popup or notification box frequently with the number of missed calls? And also auto reduce the number once the call has been returned.

Dear HI,

I understand your concern, as missed calls can be easy to overlook when Teams is set to Do Not Disturb, especially when handling calls through a Call Queue.

Based on the current Teams functionality, there does not appear to be an option to configure a recurring popup that continuously displays the number of outstanding missed calls and automatically reduces that number when each caller has been called back.

However, if your organization uses the Queues app, Shared Call History can help manage this workflow. It allows agents to review missed calls across the queue and track their follow-up status as Unresolved, In progress, or Resolved. This can also help prevent multiple agents from following up with the same caller.

I recommend checking with your Teams administrator to confirm whether Shared Call History is enabled for the affected Call Queue.

I hope this helps. Thank you for your kindness and understanding.

No built-in Teams setting in the provided material supports repeated popup reminders for missed call queue calls while status is Do Not Disturb, or automatically showing a frequent notification box with the current missed-call count.

What is supported:

  1. In the Queues app, missed calls appear in call history under Manage queue > Calls.
  2. Missed calls start with status Unresolved.
  3. The status can be changed to In progress while follow-up is happening.
  4. The status can be changed to Resolved after the issue is handled.
  5. Shared call history can show queue-wide missed calls, returned calls, and voicemails so agents and supervisors can track follow-up activity.

For the behavior requested:

  • Frequent popup reminders: not described as available.
  • Auto-reducing the missed-call count after a callback: the supported workflow is updating the call status in the Queues app to track progress and resolution.

A practical approach is to use Shared call history in the Queues app so the team can monitor missed calls, mark them In progress during callback, and mark them Resolved after the callback is completed.
