Managing personal Outlook.com account settings, security, and privacy
Hello,
If you have forgotten your account password, Microsoft will ask you to verify your identity using a recovery methods added, such as an email address or with the Microsoft Authenticator app.
If you cannot access any of your security verification methods, select “I don’t have any of these” on the screen. You will then need to replace your security information and complete the account recovery form to verify your identity and submit the New security information change request.
"According to Microsoft's Policy, if you remove all your existing security information and replace it with new information, your account will enter a restricted state for 30 days."
After the 30-day waiting period, the new security information will be added to your Microsoft account. You can then use the new method to verify your identity.
During the 30-day waiting period, the sign-in screen will show the date when your security information is scheduled to be updated.
So the question here is,
- Did you update your Security information twice by selecting 'I don't have any of these' on the Verify your identity page?
- What is the exact error message you see when you sign in with your Microsoft account now?
Can you share a screenshot of the error message now? Make sure you hide your personal information (email address) before posting the screenshot publicly.
