We have clients book meeting with Bookings, I see that the location is required virtual or in Person. But when we test it, it is not showing up as a option to select. How do we fix this, it stopped doing this within the last month or so. Previously it would always let us know how the meeting was going to be held and now it doesnt.

    Thank you for your response.

Based on the information I found, the tenant administrator can configure settings to restrict the collection of certain customer information in Bookings through the Microsoft 365 Admin Center. You can check this by following the steps below:

    Step 1: Go to admin.microsoft.com.

Step 2: Select Settings > Org settings > Bookings.

Step 3: Under Restrict collection of customer data, please check whether the Customer notes option is selected. If it is, please clear this option, then wait about 30 minutes and check whether the issue still occurs.

This is a screenshot of the settings on my side after I disabled this option through the Microsoft 365 Admin Center:

In the meantime, I also recommend creating another Shared Booking Page to check whether the new page experiences the same issue as your current Booking Page.

Whenever you have any updates regarding this issue, please feel free to share them with me. I will continue to assist you.

    Hi Abby,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Based on your description, you have set the Location field as required for each appointment.

However, based on my test environment, the fields that can be set as required when booking an appointment currently do not include the Location field.

Could you please share your current settings with me? Additionally, if possible, please share a screenshot of these settings so that I can investigate this further.

Note: Before sharing the screenshot, please make sure to hide or remove any personal or sensitive information.

I look forward to hearing from you.

In Microsoft Bookings, the location behavior is controlled in the service configuration. For a Shared Bookings service, Location is part of the service’s Basic details, and Add online meeting determines whether the appointment is created as an online meeting.

    To check and correct it:

    1. Open Bookings.
    2. Under Shared booking pages, select the booking page being used.
    3. Select Services.
    4. Open the affected service.
    5. In Basic details:
      • Verify Location is populated with the in-person location text that should appear.
      • Verify Add online meeting is set the way the service should work.

    What these settings do:

    • If Add online meeting is enabled, Bookings adds a unique Teams or Skype meeting link to the booking, calendar event, and confirmation/reminder emails.
    • If Add online meeting is disabled, the appointment does not include a meeting option, and meeting-related fields are not shown.

If the service is expected to let customers know whether the meeting is virtual or in person, review the service’s Location value and the Add online meeting setting first. Also note that changes to business-related settings can take up to 10 minutes to apply.

If this changed recently, verify the affected service was not edited and that the booking page being tested is the same shared booking page where the service settings were updated.
