Hi Michael,
The only way off of Canary build is
by doing a clean install.

Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
How do I remove myself from the insider program? The recent update 26H2 screwed my whole system up. Windows Update fails, Get Help doesn't work for canary, my Bluetooth cannot connect to hardware (well it does for a second, but it keeps disconnecting as fast as it connects over and over again) and Windows Update doesn't work for basic updates and a whole list of other problems; The biggest issue is I can't seem to rollback to an earlier stable version of Windows 11 24H2 or 25H2. As long as canary is my OS and I am an "insider" supposedly?? Canary (26H2) purposely blocks rollbacks to stable versions. Microsoft Co-Pilot AI even admitted to that, which is a whole other list of issues (sends you to dead official Microsoft links, gives you incorrect syntax to use on C-Prompt, PowerShell, sends you through hoops it already knows the outcome of failure, goes in circles, etc.). I swear Microsoft should pay me for the aggravation of testing their experimental products. I just spent 6 hours trying to rollback and the answer I was giving, get 25H2 from a different PC? My other PC can't install 11 (HP Pavillion Win 10) with the diagnosis. Even just to download a Windows 11 ISO image.

This is a great example of Copilots issues. There is no option for "Stop Insider Preview Builds" in my Windows Update Insider Program" settings.
Secondly, I was not told you only have 10 days to roll back to a stable version when 26H2 was downloaded from Windows Update. 10 days have come and gone. And how can anyone do any real testing of these "Experimental" versions in 10 days? I had 26H2 the first day it showed up in Windows Update?
So, with the answer Co-Pilot has given everyone that would read this question that I have already jumped through flaming hoops to get, a clean install (using an ISO downloaded to Linux USB, a different PC, or a phone, is the only way to remove Canary 26H2 from your system. Does that sound like a good tradeoff for an experimental OS? Lose all your files etc. to run a program ate up with issues that I presented in my question?
Welcome to Microsoft Q&A
Hello @Michael Ford ,
I understand your frustration. The important thing to know is that once a device is on the Canary Channel, simply leaving the Windows Insider Program does not automatically revert the PC back to a stable Windows release.
To stop receiving Insider builds:
However, if your PC is already running a Canary build (such as 26H2), and the rollback window has expired, the supported path back to a stable release is typically a clean installation of a released version of Windows 11 using installation media.
Before taking that step, I would recommend checking whether Settings → System → Recovery → Go back is still available. If that option is missing, a clean install is usually required because Canary builds are intended for early testing and are not
always upgrade-compatible with lower stable builds.
If your main goal is simply to leave the Insider Program and return to a supported production version of Windows, could you confirm:
That will help determine whether a rollback is still possible or whether a clean reinstall is the only supported path.

To remove the device from Insider Preview builds, the supported path depends on the channel.
For rollback:
If the goal is to stop Insider builds and return to a stable build:

If problems continue after unenrolling, report the issue in Feedback Hub and use the Answers forum or Windows Insider X for additional help.
