Hello HD,
I understand how concerning it is to see the number of saved messages continue to decrease. At this stage, however, it is not yet clear whether the messages have actually been deleted or are simply no longer being displayed or synchronized in classic Outlook.
At this point, I recommend that you review and try the steps provided in the Independent Advisor’s answer on your thread. That reply typically include the most relevant checks for this scenario.
Before making any changes to your Outlook profile or data file, please sign in to the webmail page provided by your email provider and check whether the missing messages are still visible there and review automatic rules, clear any active search or filter. You can find Microsoft’s recovery guidance here: Recover and restore deleted items in Outlook
For now, please avoid emptying the Deleted Items folder, removing the account from Outlook, or deleting any Outlook data files. Could you let me know:
- Are messages disappearing from one specific folder, such as the Inbox, or from several folders?
- Have you noticed whether only older messages are affected, or are recently received messages disappearing as well?
These details will help determine whether the next checks should focus on the mailbox itself, an automatic rule, another connected device, or classic Outlook’s local synchronization. Thank you so much for your understanding.
