Hello Smurfette Cheers,
The INVALIDCREDENTIALS CANCEL message might indicate the Google authorization did not complete correctly, or Outlook is reusing an outdated saved sign-in credential.
Here are some suggestions you can try:
- Close Outlook completely. Search for Credential Manager from the Windows taskbar, open it, and select Windows Credentials.
- Under Generic Credentials, expand entries beginning with
MicrosoftOffice16_Data:OAUTH2. Remove only those containingtp_google_imap_Oauth2, then restart Windows. This forces Outlook to request fresh Google authorization. - Open the new Outlook and add the account again using the Google option. Complete every Google sign-in prompt and allow the requested Gmail permissions.
- If the error remains, open your Google Account, select Security > Your connections to third-party apps and services > Microsoft apps & services, and remove its access. Restart Outlook and reconnect Gmail.
If Credential Manager does not show any relevant entry, open Settings > Apps > Installed apps > Outlook (new) > Advanced options, select Repair, and try again. Use Reset only if Repair does not help.
Also check Windows Settings > Accounts > Access work or school. If an old organization account is listed and you no longer use it, disconnect it.
Please let me know how it goes after trying these steps, and I'll be glad to continue looking into it with you.
