Anyone else experiencing issue with their agents on copilot? I have it troubleshooted but support could not fix the issue unfortunately.

Based on the troubleshooting performed, including signing out and signing back into the Microsoft account, performing a network reset, changing DNS settings, and restarting the system, the issue continues to persist. We also verified that the behavior occurs in both the Microsoft 365 Copilot application and the web experience.

During testing, we confirmed that the Excel agent is functioning as expected, while the issue appears to be isolated specifically to the Word agent. The Word agent continues to display the error message and is unable to properly recognize the selected source, preventing the request from being submitted.

Since the issue is limited to the Word agent and persists across multiple platforms despite the troubleshooting performed, we recommend posting this issue on the Microsoft Community forum. This will allow our product experts to review the behavior in greater detail, determine whether other users are experiencing the same issue, and provide further guidance for a fix.

Since Excel works and the Word agent fails in both the app and web, I would next test whether the failure depends on the selected source.

In a new Word-agent conversation, try these two tests:

    1. Ask it to create a short document without selecting a source.
    2. Repeat with a small, newly created source file containing only nonsensitive sample text.

If the first works but the second fails, that narrows the investigation toward source selection or retrieval. If both fail, the problem extends beyond the original source file.

Could you share the exact error text, whether you’re using a personal or work/school account, and how you’re supplying the source—upload, file picker, or link? Please also include the source’s file type and whether this affects every file or only one.
