Windows 10, Outlook (2024?) ver 1.2026.915.300: I changed the desktop icon for Outlook to the orange/white version, I want the revised icon in my taskbar. I removed the blue envelope icon from the taskbar, then performed the unpin/pin to taskbar of the revised desktop icon. The blue envelope continues to appear. I have rebooted. How to see the new icon?

    Welcome Bruce K,

Thank you for posting to Microsoft Q&A.

To better understand the situation, could you confirm whether you changed the Outlook icon by using a custom .ico file, or did you select another icon already included with Outlook?

In the meantime, please try these checks:

    1. Right-click the Outlook icon on the taskbar and select Unpin from taskbar
    2. Open “C:\Program Files\WindowsApps” is not recommended, so instead launch New Outlook from the Start menu and verify whether the orange/white icon appears there
    3. If the Start menu shows the correct icon, right-click it and choose “Pin to taskbar.”
    4. If the blue envelope still appears, restart Windows Explorer:
      • Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc
      • Open Task Manager
      • Select Windows Explorer
      • Click Restart

    Looking forward to your update.
