Hi DAVID RIDDLE,

I’d like to suggest a few additional checks to help narrow this down.

Please enter edge://policy in the address bar and check whether EditFavoritesEnabled is listed. If it appears, let me know only whether it shows as enabled or disabled. Please don’t share the full policy page or any personal information.

If that policy isn’t listed, try creating a new browser profile and see whether you can save a favorite there. This will help determine whether the issue is limited to the current profile.

Please also enter edge://settings/help in the address bar and let me know the browser version shown there.

Let me know what you find and I’ll help with the next suitable step.

None of the Favorites I have previously saved disappear after restarting PC or browser. I am not able to save any new website to any Favorites folder. I am able to save to the Favorites BAR. When I click on the Favorites icon on the address bar everything appears normal with the name of the website I want to save and all of my previous folders are shown (including when I go to "show all folders"). When I click DONE nothing is saved. Also cannot add new folders. I am not connected to any Work/School accounts.

Thanks for the detailed update. That helps narrow things down, especially since your existing Favorites remain intact and saving to the Favorites bar still works.

Could you let me know what you see for EditFavoritesEnabled under edge://policy and what browser version is shown at edge://settings/help? If EditFavoritesEnabled isn’t listed, just let me know that.

Also, if you’ve tried the new browser profile, can you save a Favorite into a folder or create a new folder there?

That should give me a better idea of whether this is specific to your current profile. Thanks for checking and let me know how it goes.

EditFavoritesEnabled is not listed under edge://policy .If I click on show policys with no value it is shown there as NOT SET.

If I create a new browser I am able to create new folders and add websites to them. Latest browser was downloaded yesterday

Also if I import my favorites to the new profile I am unable to save to them.

Hi DAVID RIDDLE,

Thanks for checking. Since EditFavoritesEnabled is Not set and a new Edge profile works until the existing Favorites are imported, I’d like to rule out anything associated with the current Windows user profile.

As a test, create a temporary Windows account from Settings > Accounts > Other users > Add account. Choose I don’t have this person’s sign-in information > Add a user without a Microsoft account, then create the account.

Sign in to that new Windows account, open Edge and first make sure you can create a Favorites folder and save a website normally. Then import the same Favorites and try saving a new website into one of the imported folders.

If the problem returns after importing them, that would further point toward something within the imported Favorites. If they work normally there, we can focus more on the original Windows user environment.

The new account is only for testing, so there’s no need to move your files or settings. Let me know what happens.

May I please know whether your Favorites disappear after restarting your PC or Microsoft Edge browser, or if you are unable to save/add a website to Favorites at all?
What happens if you click the 'Favorites' icon on the Address bar in Edge?

Also, please check whether you've connected to a Work/School account on the device.

Go to Start > Settings > Accounts > Access Work or School.

If you have any Work or School accounts linked, you might be blocked from adding or editing Edge favorites due to organizational policies.

I can create a new account but it won't let me sign in. Says to many incorrect passwords tries
