For error 0x0 after a Microsoft 365 renewal on Mac, the supported fixes are:

    1. Make sure macOS is version 12 or later.
    2. Close all Office apps.
    3. Update Office fully:
      • Open Finder > Applications > Microsoft AutoUpdate.
      • Select Update All.
      • If Microsoft AutoUpdate is not visible, check /Library/Application Support/Microsoft/MAU2.0/.
    4. Open Excel again and test activation.
    5. Verify the subscription is active on the correct Microsoft account at https://account.microsoft.com/services.
      • The Microsoft 365 subscription should appear there.
      • If it does not, sign in with the account that was used to buy the subscription.
    6. Sign out and sign back in with the correct account in the Office app.
      • If needed, choose Sign in with another account.
    7. If a renewal completed but Office still shows unlicensed, close all Microsoft 365 apps, confirm the subscription status on the Services & subscriptions page, then restart the apps.

If Office was installed from the App Store instead of microsoft.com, update it through the App Store > Updates instead of Microsoft AutoUpdate.
