A family of Microsoft spreadsheet software with tools for analyzing, charting, and communicating data
Hi Chaturvedi,
Column1, Column2, and Column3 seem to be column headers at the top of the table, not a row of data. Power Query generates those names when a table has no headers, and they aren't a row you can delete. Power Query always needs column names, so you can't have a table without them. You can rename them to something neutral, or load the data and delete the header row in Excel afterward.
If the names are just placeholders and your real headers are in the first data row, please go to Home > Use First Row as Headers. The first data row moves up and becomes the header, and Column1/2/3 disappear.
If you want to rename the headers yourself:
- Double-click a header (or right-click > Rename).
- Type the new name.
If the headers were promoted earlier and you now want them gone:
- In Applied Steps, delete the Promoted Headers step (X next to it), or use Home > Use Headers as First Row to turn them back into data.
- Then use Remove Top Rows on the row you don't want.
