  2. Some email accounts work but others dont
  3. Can send any emails from any account.

As you can appreciate this is not acceptable

Unfortunately I had to have Apple update the system to Sequoia 15.8.1 I then used Time Machine to reload all apps. I am now back to Office 2019 but I upgraded to 365 a few days before the reset. I’m now not sure what to do and in what order to get back to 365, which is on a free trial basis at present. Thanks for any advice on a non-tech literate pensioner

    Hi, r hick

Since the earlier checks didn’t help, I wouldn’t remove any more accounts or reset Outlook yet: contacts and mail stored only on this iMac could be lost in that process.

Here are some suggestions you can try:

In Outlook, open People, then Outlook > Settings > Display and turn on Show On My Computer folders. Check that section for your contacts. If you used an older Outlook setup, Help > Revert to Legacy Outlook may let you check its contacts too. The two Outlook versions do not automatically share accounts, so don’t take an empty account list there to mean the data is gone.

If the contacts are there, save a copy before changing anything else. In legacy Outlook, Tools > Export can save contacts to an.olm archive.

For the sending problem, try one short email with no attachment from each account. Check Drafts and Outbox for a message that failed to send, and note any error shown. That will help separate an account-specific problem from one affecting Outlook as a whole.

Could you tell us whether you meant “can’t send” from every account, and whether the contacts appear under On My Computer? Those two details will narrow down the next step without risking the local data.
