Scheduling and managing events using Outlook.com calendar
Hi Vannessa,
Good day. If meeting requests are no longer reaching recipients, try to check first whether the invitations are actually being sent from your mailbox. A recent Outlook update isn't necessarily the cause, so let's verify the delivery path first.
- Send a test meeting to one recipient only. Use a recipient who can confirm whether they received it. Note the exact time you sent it and the subject of the meeting.
- If you have a Microsoft 365 work or school account, ask your Microsoft 365 administrator to run a Message trace for that test invitation. This can show whether the meeting request was delivered, rejected, deferred, or otherwise failed in Exchange Online.
- If the message trace shows that the invitation was delivered, have the recipient check Junk Email, Deleted Items, Archive, and any inbox rules. Outlook can process or move meeting requests without leaving them in the Inbox.
- If the trace shows that the invitation failed before reaching the recipient, please share the delivery status/error shown by the trace. That will tell us whether we're dealing with mail flow, mailbox rules, or a calendar-specific issue.
If this is happening with multiple recipients and multiple Outlook clients, that's important information as well. In that case, I'd want to investigate the mailbox/Exchange side rather than repeatedly reinstalling or resetting Outlook.
Microsoft also provides Calendar Diagnostic Logs specifically for cases where meeting invitations or attendee responses aren't reaching the expected calendar.
I wouldn't recommend waiting for or manually installing a patch yet. Let's first establish where the invitation is being lost - that will give us a much better indication of whether an Outlook update is actually involved.
Regards,
Jhun
