A Microsoft file hosting and synchronization service.
This matches a known current OneDrive issue for personal accounts on Android, web, Windows, and iOS where search can appear blank or return no files that are known to exist. The files are still present and accessible, but they do not appear in search results.
What is currently known:
- The issue is under active investigation.
- There is no known workaround at this time.
- There is no estimated timeline for a fix yet.
Since search is failing across multiple devices and browsers, and reinstalling or clearing cache did not help, that is consistent with the reported service issue rather than a device-specific problem.
What can still be done to locate files while search is unavailable:
- Sign in to the OneDrive website at https://www.onedrive.com and manually browse folders.
- Check the Recycle bin on the left side of the OneDrive website and restore items if needed.
- Search local storage on synced devices using File Explorer, Finder, or the mobile Files app in case some files were saved locally or not yet synced.
- Check the computer Recycle Bin or Trash.
- On iOS only, if the app cannot find files, open OneDrive and go to Profile > Settings > Account > Reset.
If files are not found by browsing or in the OneDrive Recycle bin, they usually cannot be retrieved. For work or school accounts, an IT administrator may be able to investigate further using the file names, approximate last access time, and device used. For personal accounts, Microsoft’s published status currently indicates investigation only, with no workaround.
