Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
If the subscription in the Microsoft account already shows the correct renewal through June 2027, this is usually an activation sync issue on the new iPad rather than an actual expired subscription.
Try this in order:
- Check the subscription status at the Microsoft account Services & subscriptions page and confirm it shows the correct renewal/expiry date for the same Microsoft account used in the apps.
- Close all Microsoft 365 apps on the iPad.
- Open an app such as Word.
- Sign out of Office in the app.
- Restart the iPad.
- Open the app again and sign in with the same Microsoft account that owns the Microsoft 365 Personal subscription.
If the app still shows Subscription expired after that:
- In the app, if prompted, select Reactivate and then Buy only if the account truly shows expired.
- If the subscription was bought from a third party such as Apple rather than directly from Microsoft, billing and subscription management must be handled with that provider.
- If the online subscription status looks correct but the iPad still shows expired, contact Microsoft Support.
After a successful renewal, Microsoft also recommends closing all Office apps and opening them again. A sign-in prompt may appear again, and signing in with the subscription account can clear the warning.
