My Outlook on Mac keeps crashing. I have lost my contact list as well as all folders containing previous emails.

    Welcome Lynn Biscott,

I understand how frustrating it can be when Outlook crash can sometimes make local data, contacts, or folders appear missing.

Could you please confirm the following:

    • Are you using an Outlook.com, Hotmail.com, Live.com, or Microsoft 365 Personal/Family account, or is this an account provided by work/school?
    • Did the missing emails and contacts disappear after Outlook crashed, or did this happen after updating Outlook or switching between New Outlook and Legacy Outlook?
    • If you sign in to Outlook on the web, do you still see your contacts and missing folders there?

In the meantime, please try these quick checks:

    1. Open Outlook and select Outlook > Settings > General. Confirm that Hide On My Computer folders is turned off.
    2. Check whether the account is still syncing:
      • Select Tools > Accounts
      • Choose your account
      • Verify that it shows as connected and there are no sync errors.
    3. Open Outlook on the web and check:
      • People for your contacts
      • Deleted Items
      • Recover deleted items (if available)

    Looking forward to your update.
