Scheduling and managing events using Outlook.com calendar
For Samsung Calendar sync issues with Outlook, use these checks in order:
- In the Outlook mobile app, open Settings > Calendar and turn on Sync calendars. This exports Outlook calendar data to the device’s default calendar app and supports two-way sync for Microsoft 365, Outlook.com, and hybrid modern authentication for on-premises mailboxes.
- If sync was already enabled, turn Sync calendars off, close Outlook, reopen it, and turn Sync calendars on again.
- Verify the account on the phone is added as Exchange or Exchange ActiveSync, not IMAP or POP. IMAP and POP can sync email only and cannot sync calendar or contacts.
- On the Samsung device, go to Settings > Accounts > tap Exchange > tap the email account that is not syncing, and make sure Sync Calendar is enabled.
- If the account shows as IMAP instead of Exchange, remove it and re-add it as Exchange ActiveSync or Exchange.
- In the Outlook app, go to Settings > tap the account that is not syncing > Reset Account.
- If that does not fix it, in Outlook go to Settings > tap the account > Delete Account > Delete From This Device, then add the account again.
If the phone still reports the account is already connected and cannot be read, the most likely cause from the supported guidance is that the account was added incorrectly or is using IMAP/POP instead of Exchange. Re-adding it as Exchange is the corrective path.
If the account is a work or school Microsoft 365 or Exchange-based account and the problem continues after re-adding it, contact the Microsoft 365 admin or technical support.
