Hello Stephen,
With the HP OfficeJet 7602, scanning from the flatbed is straightforward. Since you already placed the document on the glass, open the HP Smart app on your PC or mobile device. From the home screen, select “Scan.” Make sure the source is set to “Flatbed” rather than “Document Feeder.” Once you press “Scan,” the printer will capture the document. You can then crop, adjust, and save it as PDF or JPEG.
If you don’t have HP Smart installed, you can use Windows’ built‑in tool. On Windows 10/11, open Start > Windows Scan (or “Windows Fax and Scan”). Choose your HP 7602 from the scanner list, select “Flatbed” as the source, set the file type, and click “Scan.” The file will be saved in your Pictures > Scans folder by default.
On macOS, open Preview, go to File > Import from Scanner > HP OfficeJet 7602, select “Flatbed,” then scan and save.
That should give you a clean digital copy of your document.
I hope you've found something useful here. If it helps you get more insight into the issue, it's appreciated to accept the answer. Should you have more questions, feel free to leave a message. Have a nice day!
