Unable to generate Aged Accounts Receivables Excel Version

Good day,

We are unable to generate the above report from Business Central 365. Yes, I 'enable' editing and 'enable content'. The report worked initially and then it stopped.

We are currently at Version 28.5, any insights into this would be appreciated.

- Generate in Business Central? - It is generating
- Download? - It can download
- Open in Excel? - Yes
Is this a standard Microsoft report or a custom report/layout? - Aged Accounts Receivable(Excel) standard MS Report
Does the issue affect all users? - Yes
When did it start? Was it after an update to version 28.5? - Prior to 28.5, thought it would have been rectified in 28.5
Can the report be exported as Excel (data only) successfully? - Yes, CustomerAgingData sheet is blank
Does the issue occur in both Production and Sandbox? - Yes

Since the report worked previously and then stopped, this may be related to the report layout, saved filters, or a recent Business Central update rather than the Enable Editing or Enable Content settings.

To help narrow down the cause, please confirm the following details:

What is the exact error message?
Is the report failing to:
- Generate in Business Central?
- Download?
- Open in Excel?
Is this a standard Microsoft report or a custom report/layout?
Does the issue affect all users?
When did it start? Was it after an update to version 28.5?
Can the report be exported as Excel (data only) successfully?
Does the issue occur in both Production and Sandbox?

Since the report was successfully generated, downloaded, and opened, yet the "CustomerAgingData" sheet is blank, the issue is not simply a matter of needing to refresh the pivot tables. This sheet likely contains raw data aggregated for use by other sheets; if it is empty, there is no data available to perform calculations in Excel or to populate the pivot tables.

Could you please try the following:

Open Report Layouts in Business Central and locate Aged Accounts Receivable (Excel), Report ID 4402.

Confirm that the report is using the standard Microsoft Excel layout rather than a copied or customized layout.

Run the report again with minimal filters:

Select an Aged as of date that includes known open customer ledger entries.

Remove any customer, currency, or dimension filters.

Test with both Due Date and Posting Date, if available.

If saved report settings are being used, delete or bypass them and enter the request-page options again manually.

For comparison, run the legacy Aged Accounts Receivables report, Report ID 120, for the same aging date. Microsoft still documents this as the legacy alternative, although it recommends the newer Excel report.

Report 4402 retrieves customer ledger entries and aggregates the results using the two global dimensions. Therefore, it would also be useful for your Business Central administrator or partner to review the global-dimension configuration and confirm that no filters or extensions are preventing those entries from being included.

If the standard layout remains blank with no filters, while Report 120 or an Excel data-only export returns the expected records, this should be raised with your Microsoft partner or Microsoft Business Central support. Please include:

The generated blank workbook

A screenshot of the report request-page filters

The company name and environment

The Business Central version

Confirmation that Production and Sandbox are affected

Confirmation that CustomerAgingData is blank

The result from Report 120 using the same aging date

The Business Central session ID and timestamp of a test run

In the meantime, Report 120 or the successful Excel data-only export may be used as a temporary workaround.

Good day,

My apologies, I did remove the filters and just keyed in the customer number and/or the salesperson code and CustomerAgingData is not blank.

I'm in the process of matching the totals with the Customer Ledger entries.

The Excel version of the TB was not received well, Receivables is still using the legacy report. I am also new with the creation and using of Excel layouts.

Observation, the report previously in the pivot table mode was also easier to work with via the 'design' and 'pivot table analysis' option.
