Processes in Microsoft 365 for setting up Office apps, redeeming product keys, and activating licenses.
Hi @K C27
If you purchased Office Professional Plus 2016 as an individual or retail license for a Windows PC, you generally cannot convert that license into a native Office for Mac license.
However, if the license was provided by your workplace, school, or another organization, different terms may apply. Some organizational licenses may allow an equivalent Mac version to be used. You would need to check with the organization that provided the license to find out whether this option is included.
Please also note that support for Office 2016 for Mac ended on October 13, 2020. An existing installation may continue to function, but it no longer receives security updates, bug fixes, or technical support. For this reason, using a currently supported version would be the safer option. End of support for Office 2016 for Mac
For a supported Office experience on your MacBook, you can consider the following options:
- Microsoft 365: A subscription that supports Office applications on both Windows PCs and Macs.
- Office Home 2024 or Office Home & Business 2024: A one-time purchase that can be installed on one Mac.
- Office on the web: Browser-based versions of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, suitable if you do not need the full desktop applications.
Hopefully this helps clear things up.
