My web app at ask-avrukh.azurewebsites.net loads and works fine in the browser, but it does not appear in the App Services section of the Azure portal, does not show up in resource search, and 'az webapp list' in Azure CLI returns an empty array for this subscription. Billing and the subscription itself are active and working normally

    Hello Boris Avrukh

I see that ask-avrukh.azurewebsites.net is still serving the expected application, the App Service data plane is working. The most likely issue is management-plane visibility, not that the app stopped existing.

    Check these first:

    1. Tenant and subscription context az account show az account list --refresh -o table Also verify Portal settings → Directories + subscriptions → Default subscription filter → Select all. Azure portal filters can hide resources/subscriptions, and subscriptions are directory-specific.
    2. RBAC permissions Azure Resource Graph only returns resources for which the signed-in identity has at least read access. Losing Microsoft.Web/sites/read access can therefore make an app disappear from portal/resource searches while the public website continues running. Search every accessible subscription After selecting each subscription: az account set --subscription <subscription-id> az resource list --name ask-avrukh --resource-type Microsoft.Web/sites -o table az resource list is the generic ARM resource query and is useful to rule out an App Service-specific CLI issue.
    3. You can also query ARM directly: az rest --method get --url "https://management.azure.com/subscriptions/<SUBSCRIPTION-ID>/providers/Microsoft.Web/sites?api-version=2026-03-15" --query "value[?name=='ask-avrukh']"

The App Service REST API defines this operation as listing all web apps in the specified subscription.
