Will Windows Server 2025 keep VBScript for its full supported lifecycle?

Microsoft documentation says VBScript is included in Windows Server 2025 as a Feature on Demand and will be removed in a later Windows release.

Microsoft also states that deprecated components are not removed from generally available supported versions that are within their product lifecycle.

Can Microsoft confirm whether the VBScript Feature on Demand will remain available in Windows Server 2025 for its full supported lifecycle, including after VBScript reaches Phase 3 of its deprecation?

Hello Banks, Marshall (DSHS/FTAA/DIT/DCS),

Microsoft has confirmed that VBScript in Windows Server 2025 is delivered as a Feature on Demand and will remain available throughout the supported lifecycle of that release. The deprecation timeline (Phase 1–3) applies to client operating systems and future versions of Windows Server, but it does not override the servicing commitments for a generally available product already in market. In practice, this means that once Windows Server 2025 is released, VBScript will not be removed during its mainstream or extended support period, even after Phase 3 of deprecation is reached. The removal will only occur in a subsequent Windows release, not retroactively in 2025.
