Bad news. Microsoft company is no more user friendly. You need to pay/again for basic functionality like to create a new blank document in microsoft word on android devices like a tablet-ish.

    Hi, @Jack Carter

Is this happening when you try to create any new blank document, or only when opening/editing certain documents?

Some Word editing features are considered premium and require a Microsoft 365 subscription, such as Microsoft 365 Personal or Family. On larger Android tablets, a subscription may also be required for editing.

    To help narrow this down:

    1. What is the exact make and model of the new tablet?
    2. What message appears when you try to create a new blank document?
    3. Do you already have Microsoft 365 Personal or Family under https://account.microsoft.com/services?

Click "Add comment" to let me know.

    Thanks!
