Open the file presetShapeDefinitions.xml. It is in "OfficeOpenXML-DrawingMLGeometries.zip" in "c071691_ISO_IEC_29500-1_2016_Electronic_inserts.zip", https://standards.iso.org/ittf/PubliclyAvailableStandards/c071691_ISO_IEC_29500-1_2016_Electronic_inserts.zip

The current definition of the text area in preset "pie" is

<rect l="il" t="ir" r="it" b="ib" />

Thereby il, ir, it and ib are defined as

      <gd name="il" fmla="+- hc 0 idx" />
      <gd name="ir" fmla="+- hc idx 0" />
      <gd name="it" fmla="+- vc 0 idy" />
      <gd name="ib" fmla="+- vc idy 0" />

Obviously it should be t="it" and r="ir"

Hi @Regina Henschel ,

I can confirm that the update has been submitted. Please see this commit to the OOXML Schema repo. For the publication date you will need to contact ISO.

Best regards, Michael Bowen Sr. Escalation Engineer - Microsoft® Corporation

Hi @Regina Henschel

Thank you for bringing this up.

I can see that this issue was previously reported by you in 2024 on Microsoft Q&A. In that thread, an employee from the Microsoft Open Specifications team reviewed the report, reproduced the issue, confirmed that the rectangle definition should be:

<rect l="il" t="it" r="ir" b="ib" />

I also tried downloading the file you mentioned and what you said is right, top and right values are mixed up.

Since the file in question is obtained from the ISO Publicly Available Standards website and the issue appears to still be present, I would recommend contacting both Microsoft and ISO:

  • For Microsoft: [MS-DEVCENTLP]: Development Support | Microsoft Learn
  • ISO: As the package is currently distributed through the ISO Publicly Available Standards site, you may also want to contact ISO regarding the publication and maintenance status of the affected package.
