Hello Microsoft Support/Community,

I am a full-time student at Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering (DSCE), India, and I am trying to activate Azure for Students.

During academic verification using my official college email, I receive the error: “Your email domain is not currently registered with us. You can choose another verification method.”

I have also tried using Incognito/InPrivate mode, but the same error appears and no alternative verification method is displayed.

Could you please advise how I can complete the Azure for Students academic verification or have my institution's email domain reviewed?

I can provide proof of enrollment if required.

Thank you.

I think Azure for Students only works when Microsoft already recognizes the school’s mail domain as an academic tenant, and there’s no self‑service way for students to change that.

If “domain not registered” shows up and there’s no alternate verification, you just open Help and support → Account and billing → Education and ask Microsoft to review the domain, and your school’s IT/admin needs to request the domain onboarding.

If the Azure for Students flow shows “Your email domain is not currently registered with us”, the supported path is to contact Microsoft Support and create a support request for Subscription Management.

    Steps:

    1. Open the Azure portal.
    2. Go to Help + Support.
    3. Select Create a support request.
    4. In Support + Troubleshooting, search for subscription management.
    5. Select Subscription Management and continue.
    6. Review the suggested solutions. If they do not resolve the issue, select Contact Support.
    7. Select Create a support request and submit the case.

If access to the Azure portal is blocked, use the guidance for submitting a support request when sign-in is not available, or contact Microsoft customer service for the local region.

    Relevant facts for this scenario:

    • This error can occur when the school email domain is not recognized or registered for the Azure for Students program.
    • Using InPrivate or Incognito mode may not resolve the issue if the domain itself is not being recognized.
    • A public email domain cannot be used for education verification; an academic domain is required.
