Shared folders are not showing up on one drive. We have uninstalled, reinstalled, cleared browser history, restarted the computer. No luck

Hi there everyone, I am having the same issue with my one drives and my family sharing folders.

It seems all out accounts are not able to share with each other. Its only happened recently.

So I am not sure what is going on. Does anyone know what the issue is?

    Thank you.

    Diana

    Hi @Crysta Parson,

Based on your description, to help isolate the root cause and provide a targeted solution, please review the probing questions below and attempt the preliminary troubleshooting steps in the meantime.

To pinpoint where the sync or display breakdown is occurring, please provide the following details in the next reply:

    • Are the shared folders missing from OneDrive on the Web (accessible via a web browser), or are they visible online but missing from the local Windows File Explorer?
    • Were these folders shared by a colleague within the organization, or did they originate from an external partner or tenant?
    • Has the classic "Sync" button previously been used for these specific folders or for the SharePoint document library where they reside?
    • Are there any explicit error messages, warning flags, or specific status icons displayed when clicking the OneDrive cloud icon in the Windows system tray?

While awaiting a response to the questions above, please attempt the following procedures to verify folder behavior and provide updates on the outcomes:

Step 1: Verify the Shared with me directory online

    1. Navigate to the Microsoft 365 sign-in page via a web browser and log into the OneDrive portal.
    2. On the left-hand navigation pane, click on Shared, then select the With you tab.
    3. Please note if the target folders are visible in this location.

Step 2: Manually trigger the local shortcut

If the folders are visible in OneDrive on the Web but missing from the computer, they may need to be manually mapped to the local sync engine:

    1. In the Shared with me section on the web, locate the missing folder.
    2. Select the folder, then click Add shortcut to My files from the top toolbar (or click the three dots ... next to the folder name to find this option).

    3. Allow a few moments for the local OneDrive client to sync, and check if the folder now appears in the local Windows File Explorer.

Step 3: Check for sync conflict restrictions

If an error occurs when attempting to add a shortcut, or if the shortcut fails to appear:

    1. Open the local OneDrive Settings (click the OneDrive cloud icon in the system tray -> gear icon -> Settings).
    2. Under the Account tab, verify if there are any conflicting SharePoint libraries currently syncing.

Please reply with the outcomes of these steps and the answers to the questions above at the earliest convenience. Once this data is received, further technical guidance will be provided to resolve this matter completely.
