I just got my surface back from the repair shop and I can’t seem to sign into it with my Microsoft password. It’s what it was before I brought it in. Is there anyway to bypass this?

    Hello, Alycia Veniot.

    Welcome to Microsoft Community!

I noticed that you are unable to sign in to your Surface Go using your Microsoft account password. Is there another way to sign in to your device?

Or do you see any other login options on the current login screen?

You should be able to reset your Microsoft account password by selecting the Forgot your password option, and after a successful synchronization, you will be able to sign in with your new Microsoft account password.

Of course, the actual situation will need to be further confirmed with you.

In the meantime, as a final solution to deal with the login issue, it is necessary for me to share it with you here, although we don't want to go this far.

Reset the system via the recovery drive:

Since we don't have access to the current device, we need to use another computer to access the following site to get a dedicated image file for the Surface to create the recovery drive:

Get it by logging into your account and entering your device's serial number:

After completing the creation of the recovery drive, continue to refer to the guidelines in the following link to complete the recovery operation:

The link shows us a complete demo video and key textual guidelines:

With the above steps, we were eventually able to re-access the device.

These are some of the information I can share with you at this time.

I look forward to your reply and to assist you further with your situation.

    Best Regards.
