I was at the very last step of beginning a trial of Microsoft Planner and Project Plan 3. I finally got to the last step and selected "Try Now". However I received an error
"You've reached the subscription limit for this offer. Learn more about Enterprise subscriptions."
I didn't even start the trial. What is going on?

The “subscription limit for this offer” message means enrollment was blocked by the offer’s eligibility rules; it does not show that a new trial started.

    Check the account and tenant

    1. Determine which account was signed in when you selected “Try now.”
      • If it was a personal Microsoft account such as Outlook.com or Hotmail, Planner and Project Plan 3 trials are intended for Microsoft 365 business tenants. Sign in with an organizational work account instead, or have an organization create and license a business tenant.^1^
      • If it was a work or school account, continue below.
    2. Ask your Microsoft 365 administrator to inspect the tenant.
      • In the Microsoft 365 admin center, check Billing → Your products for an existing or expired Planner and Project Plan 3 trial.
      • Check Billing → Licenses → Requests for a pending, approved, or denied request.
      • Check whether license requests or self-service trials are disabled for the organization.
Administrators can manage Planner trial requests and license assignments, including enabling or disabling license requests.^2^
    3. Check for previous use of the offer in the same tenant.
Offer limits apply across the customer tenant, not merely to the individual enrollment attempt. Microsoft documents that most trials use a lifetime offer limit of one, although the exact limit must be confirmed for this particular SKU.^3^

If the tenant previously obtained the same limited trial—even if it has expired or was assigned to another user—the administrator may need to assign a paid Planner and Project Plan 3 license instead of starting another trial.

If no previous trial or policy block is visible

Open a Microsoft support request and include:

    • The exact error text
    • The correlation value: CV: OdtkED0cy8PicUUu.1.10
    • The approximate date, time, and time zone of the attempt
    • The signed-in account type: personal, work, or school
    • Confirmation from the administrator that no active, expired, or pending Plan 3 trial appears

Use Microsoft’s support page and choose the business/account-and-billing route.^4^ Support can determine which offer-level restriction was applied; the displayed message alone does not distinguish prior trial use from another tenant eligibility rule.

A successful eligible enrollment normally provides Planner premium features for 30 days. Depending on organizational settings, the trial may start immediately or require administrator approval.^5^

    Dear enuenu,

The error message "You've reached the subscription limit for this offer" usually means that your Microsoft 365 organization (tenant) has already used, currently has, or is not eligible for another Microsoft Planner and Project Plan 3 trial.

Even if you did not complete the trial activation, it's possible that:

    • A previous trial was started in your tenant.
    • Another administrator in your organization has already activated the trial.
    • An existing or expired Project Plan 3 subscription is still associated with the tenant.
    • The tenant has already reached Microsoft's trial eligibility limit for this offer.

In this case, to better understand what is causing the trial activation to fail, could you please provide a few more details?‌

    • Is this a brand-new Microsoft 365 tenant, or has it been in use for some time?
    • Are you the Global Administrator for the Microsoft 365 tenant?
    • Has anyone in your organization previously started a Microsoft Project Plan 3, Planner Premium, or other Project-related trial?‌
    • Are you attempting to start the trial from the Planner app, the Project app, or in the M365 Admin Center?‌
    • Could you share a screenshot of the full error message (please remove any personal information before uploading)?

In the meantime, I recommend checking:

    • Microsoft 365 Admin Center > Billing > Your products to see whether a Project Plan 3 trial or subscription already exists.
    • Go to https://portal.office.com/account/?ref=Harmony#subscriptions to review the licenses and subscriptions associated with your account.
    • Whether another admin in your organization has previously activated a Project or Planner trial. If you are an end-user, please reach out to your organization's IT Admin. For reference: How do I find my Microsoft 365 admin?

Note: As this is a public community forum, please understand that no one here has access to your Microsoft 365 tenant, subscription records, or trial eligibility information.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out. I'm looking forward to your update
