Check the date of birth on the Epic Games account used for Fortnite, because the browser message is tied to Epic’s age and permission checks rather than a Windows 11 download setting.
Correct the Epic account age
- Sign in to the Epic Games account being used to download Fortnite.
- Open Epic’s How to correct the date of birth on your Epic account page and start the Epic Games Support Assistant. ^1^
- Request a date-of-birth correction if the account shows an age below 13.
- Because you are under 18, ask a parent or guardian to complete any age confirmation or consent that Epic requests.
Epic may require parental permission when someone is under 13 or under the digital-consent age in their country if that age is higher. Therefore, being 13 does not necessarily remove the consent requirement everywhere. ^2^
Check what page appeared
If the message appeared on a page about Fortnite tournaments or competitive events, the 13-year requirement applies to competing, not to installing the regular game. Return to Fortnite’s normal download page rather than the competition page. ^3^
Since the PC is not managed through Microsoft Family Safety and the warning appears on the Fortnite website, changing Windows Family settings is not the appropriate first fix. If the Epic account already has the correct birth date and the normal download page still blocks you, use the Epic Games Support Assistant from the birth-date correction page and have a parent or guardian help with the request.
