Artifact Signing Organization/Public validation Failed — no document-upload control with Basic support

Our existing Artifact Signing Organization/Public identity validation shows Failed. The request indicates that additional information is needed, but its Azure portal details have no document-upload control. Our Azure Basic support plan does not permit opening a technical support request.

What is the documented recovery route for this existing request? Could a Microsoft moderator help determine whether it can be returned to Action Required, or whether Microsoft requires a corrected new request? Please also clarify whether any documentation attempts remain before we make another submission.

If Microsoft needs request identifiers to investigate, please initiate a private-message conversation. Please specify the approved secure channel for any requested supporting documents; we can provide them if required through that channel.

If this Failed organization validation entered the additional-document workflow, Microsoft documents that all three document-submission attempts are considered exhausted and onboarding cannot continue for that request; there is no documented self-service method to return it to Action Required.^1^

    Documented outcome

    The documented workflow is:

    • When more documents are required, the request changes to Action Required and Microsoft sends an email.
    • After processing, the terminal status becomes Completed or Failed.^2^
    • For a failed organization validation unrelated to a missed email-verification link, the FAQ says the validation team could not determine eligibility from the supplied information.
    • If extra documents were required, the FAQ states that all three attempts have been exhausted and Microsoft cannot proceed further with onboarding.
    • Deleting the Artifact Signing account is recommended only to avoid charges for unused resources; it does not recover validation.^1^

A new request is explicitly documented when the failure resulted from a missed or expired email-verification link. The available documentation does not establish corrected resubmission as the recovery route for other failed additional-document cases.

    Request case-specific review through Q&A

Because the portal exposes neither an upload control nor a rejection reason, update this public Q&A thread and ask a Microsoft moderator to:

    1. Confirm whether the backend records this as an exhausted three-attempt document case.
    2. Confirm whether the existing request is permanently closed.
    3. Ask the validation team whether a corrected new request is permitted for this organization.

Moderator/internal-team involvement has occurred in similar Artifact Signing rejection cases, but it is an escalation precedent—not a documented guarantee that a request can be reopened or returned to Action Required.^3^

A moderator may request the identity-validation ID and relevant Artifact Signing/account details. Do not post subscription IDs, tenant IDs, validation IDs, contact details, or documents publicly.

    Support-plan limitation

Azure provides subscription-management support without a paid plan, but technical support requires an eligible support plan.^4^ The Artifact Signing FAQ separately identifies Azure Support or Microsoft Q&A with the artifact-signing tag as the assistance channels.^1^ Therefore, with Basic support blocking a technical ticket, this Q&A thread is the documented public route for requesting clarification.

    Private message and documents

Only a Microsoft moderator can initiate a Q&A private-message conversation. Once initiated:

    • A blue banner/private-message button appears on the question.
    • The author and Microsoft moderators can view the conversation.
    • Attachments are supported.
    • Messages are deleted 30 days after the moderator’s first message.^5^

Use private messaging for identifiers only when requested. For government identification, corporate records, or other sensitive evidence, wait for Microsoft to name or provide the approved secure upload channel. Do not assume ordinary Q&A attachments are approved for identity documents merely because attachments are technically supported.

No further portal document-upload attempt is documented once this extra-document request is Failed. Before making another submission, obtain Microsoft’s case-specific confirmation that a new request is allowed and what information must be corrected.
