Hi,

You have cancelled the support for PUBLISHER.. I have a CD which I purchased some time ago. You will not let me install it. I paid for this program, separately from Office 365, which I pay annually. Since I own the CD, I wonder is it even legal for you to block my installing the program. I have used Publisher for decades and want to continue using it. The fact you dont support it, does not matter, I don't need help.

I think you have committed Fraud

Fix it

As you probably already know, Publisher has been removed from the subscription version of Office.

If you have an install disc with an older perpetual license of Publisher, you should be able to run it, though. Note that you may not be able to install on a computer which is already running a newer version of Office, unfortunately.

Which version of Publisher is it that you have? What is the specific product name?

    Hi Paulien George,

I understand why this is concerning, especially since you purchased Publisher separately on CD.

Ending support does not automatically revoke a perpetual Publisher license. Microsoft states that perpetual versions can still be installed and used after support ends, although they will no longer receive updates or technical support.

The installation problem may therefore be related to the Publisher version, product key, installation media, or compatibility with the current Windows version rather than the retirement of Publisher itself.

Please note that this is a user-to-user support forum. Moderators, contributors including external Microsoft employees cannot directly intervene in Microsoft product features or access back-end systems. My role is limited to providing technical guidance on reported issues, requests, or ideas.

Could you please provide the exact Publisher version, your Windows version, and any error message or code shown during installation? Please do not post the full product key publicly.

You can also review Microsoft’s official Publisher retirement information here: Microsoft Publisher will no longer be supported after October 2026 Thank you so much for your understanding.
