@MicrosoftHelps Your recent Bing/Copilot app update completely broke my chat histories. I keep getting 'We couldn't open this chat' on a creative story I spent months writing. Please help me recover my data, the migration pipeline is broken! I opened the bing app just to get to my story but then it redirected me to copilot and when I went there it was completely not allowing me to open the history I worked really hard on and even if possible for it to work for a bit or if possible I could get the chat back or maybe just go back to old bing I think many users will be happy with that and will be preferred for very good customer service, Please listen to your users. Like all the 1-star reviews on the Play Store are saying right now, this new update that forces "Bing Mode" has completely broken everything.

You transported everything to Copilot, and now when I try to look at my chat history, it gives me the error "We couldn't open this chat." I spent months writing a creative story that I absolutely loved, and now I am completely locked out of it. Nothing can replace the hard work I put into that thread.

The old Bing AI was reliable and actually worked. This new update feels like a complete downgrade that strips away the chat features we loved and breaks our personal data. Please fix the server migration so I can open my old chats and get my story back. These were comments from other users

removing Co pilot search was a huge mistake. The new Al doesn't answer questions properly. It has huge info barriers and it's better off not even using it. removing working functions ain't the way I'd go if I ran this app. it used to have deals and discounts and a bunch of other tools as well. app is on a downward spiral and the only reason I use it at all was for bing rewards but even in that I've been scammed on points dozens of times. I'm not downloading edge, co pilot, and whatever else.

This new update is sucks. Why did you remove copilot ai from bing defult ai and replaced with last useful ai search wich is basically can't have chat conversation can't upload image and I think can't generate image. We won't install an extra app for a mistake you did

So if you could please listen to your users you might get more downloads

    Hi Saima Latif,

I can understand how concerning this is, especially when the affected chat contains a creative story that you worked on for months.

The“We couldn’t open this chat” message may indicate that the conversation has not completed its migration or synchronization with the updated Copilot experience. Please first confirm that you are signed in using the exact same Microsoft, Google, or Apple sign-in method that was previously used with Bing/Copilot. Then try opening the conversation from both the Copilot web version and the updated app, after fully closing and reopening the app.

Microsoft also notes that migrated content may take some time to appear or become available. If an in-app option to access existing chats is displayed, please use that option and check the conversation again later. In the meantime, avoid deleting the conversation, clearing the account data, or signing in with a different method.

You can review Microsoft’s official guidance here: Troubleshoot your content in the updated Copilot app.

If the same specific chat remains visible but cannot be opened, please report it through Profile > Give feedback in Copilot and include the exact error message, the affected chat date, and whether the problem occurs on both the app and web version. Since this is a user-to-user support forum, contributors cannot access or restore chat data from Microsoft’s back-end systems, but submitting those details will help the Copilot team investigate the migration failure.

I hope the conversation can be recovered successfully, given how much work it contains. Please note that this is a user-to-user support forum. Moderators, contributors including external Microsoft employees cannot directly intervene in Microsoft product features or access back-end systems. My role is limited to providing technical guidance on reported issues, requests, or ideas.

I know this isn't the news you were hoping for, but I wanted to make sure you got the most accurate information about your situation. Thank you so much for your understanding.
