Troubleshooting website display or functionality issues in Edge on Windows 11
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
Whenever I try to log in to admin.microsoft.com using ordinary Edge (or any browser), I see this screenshot. If I click on the button (link), I see errorCode 100014. Acting on the advice of a (live human) Microsoft customer support agent, I have been using a Private window on Edge to log in, which does work but is awkward. Refreshing the screen when I see this page has no effect. How can I correct this problem?
Troubleshooting website display or functionality issues in Edge on Windows 11
Hi Lois Wingerson,
Since the Microsoft 365 Admin Center works in an InPrivate window, this is more likely related to the account or sign-in session saved in the regular browser window than to the Admin Center itself.
First, compare the account shown in the working InPrivate window with the one selected in the regular window. The Microsoft 365 Admin Center must be accessed with a work or school account that has an appropriate administrator role, not a personal Microsoft account.
In the regular Edge window, try the following:
admin.microsoft.com, admin.cloud.microsoft, and login.microsoftonline.com.If the same account still receives the permission message after the stored sign-in data is removed, ask another administrator in the organization to verify that the account has the required admin role. Microsoft explains how administrator roles are assigned in the Microsoft 365 admin center documentation.
Also, could you confirm whether the address used in the working InPrivate window is a work or school account and whether exactly the same address is selected in the regular window? Thank you so much for your understanding.

Delete the Microsoft 365 admin site’s cookies from the normal Edge profile, then reopen the portal and explicitly select your work or school administrator account.
InPrivate working while the normal session fails indicates that the normal browser profile is reusing stored sign-in or account-selection data. Error 100014 with “Login is not supported for consumer users without business presence” occurs when the admin portal receives a personal Microsoft account rather than an account associated with a Microsoft 365 business tenant.^1^
admin.microsoft.com.admin.cloud.microsoft if it appears.Microsoft documents this site-specific cookie deletion path for Edge.^2^ Avoid clearing data across every Microsoft domain initially, because Microsoft sign-in data can be shared with other Microsoft 365 services; deleting targeted site data preserves unrelated sessions where possible.^3^
If those entries are not present or targeted deletion does not fix it, press Ctrl+Shift+Delete, choose an appropriate time range, select Cookies and other site data, and clear it. This broader action signs you out of most websites.^2^
Verify that the account used in InPrivate is exactly the same one selected in the normal window. The Microsoft 365 admin center requires a Microsoft 365 organizational account with suitable administrator permissions; purchasing a Microsoft 365 business subscription initially grants admin permissions to the purchaser, who can assign roles to others.^4^
If the clean session accepts the account but reports that it lacks permission:
