i recently had to switch phones and logged into my authenticator on my new phone but all codes get sent to my old phone and i don't know how to fix it. I won't be able to keep my old phone running for long and would love to know how to fix it.

@Anesu Maregedze For a work or school account, while your old phone still works:

  1. On a computer, go to Security info.
  2. Sign in and approve on your old phone.
  3. Click Add sign-in method → Microsoft Authenticator.
  4. On your new phone, open Authenticator → + → Work or school account → Scan QR code.
  5. Scan the QR code on your computer and finish the test.
  6. Only after it works, remove the old phone’s Authenticator entry.

No old phone? Choose Sign in another way. If that doesn’t work, ask your work/school IT team to reset your MFA registration. If this answers your question, please mark it as the accepted answer.

Don’t erase your old phone yet.

Which authenticator app do you use Microsoft, Google, or another? Are the codes arriving by text message, or appearing inside the app?
