Your company-domain sign-in is a work/organizational account, which Microsoft for Startups does not accept; apply with a new personal Microsoft account that has never been associated with Azure or another Microsoft startup offer.

    Apply with an eligible account

    1. Create a new personal Microsoft account.
      • Use Outlook.com, Hotmail.com, Live.com, or a personal email address registered as a Microsoft account.
      • Do not use a work, school, Microsoft Entra ID, or organization-managed company account.
      • The new account must not have been used previously with:
        • Azure Free Trial
        • Azure for Students
        • Microsoft for Startups
        • Another Azure sponsorship or promotional offer
These account requirements are documented in the Microsoft for Startups FAQ.^1^
    2. Sign out of the work account shown in the screenshot.
To avoid Microsoft automatically selecting it again, open a private/incognito browser window.
    3. Start a new application from the Microsoft for Startups application page.
      • Select Get started now.
      • Sign in with the new personal Microsoft account.
      • Do not select the company account if an account picker appears.
The application instructions specifically state that work, school, and company-domain accounts are not accepted for this sign-in step.^2^
    4. Complete the appropriate application route.
      • If you have a 10-character referral code from a participating investor, accelerator, or VC, enter it.
      • Otherwise, select Continue without a code.
      • Complete identity verification and Azure account setup using the new personal account.
      • Ensure the selected country/region matches the billing address; it cannot be changed later during this setup.^2^

The work email can still be supplied where the application asks for a contact email, but it cannot be the organizational identity used to sign in and claim the offer.

If the new personal account is also rejected

Submit a Microsoft for Startups Program Support request, because that team handles application, eligibility, startup-credit activation, business verification, and ownership issues:

    1. Sign in to the Azure portal with the account used for the application.
    2. Open the Microsoft for Startups Program Overview page.
    3. Under Your Microsoft Team, select Get program support.
    4. Include the exact eligibility message, the application email, and a screenshot. Do not post account details publicly.

Microsoft documents this as the support route for startup program and benefit problems.^3^

If the personal account previously received Azure credits, creating zero current subscriptions does not make it new again. Program Support can clarify the account state, but it cannot override a program eligibility decision.^1^
